Job Description

Length of Contract: One (1) Year Fixed Term Contract (Renewable)

The Social Marketing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of social marketing sales of MSIG’s products to the private sector and, as part of a team, works to expand MSIG’s social marketing function to include additional distributors, products, and warehousing capacity. Subsequently, the substantive position will support the social marketing function of MSIG’s work.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure high-quality customer service to MSIG’s distribution partners and Chemical Sellers

  • Serve as the focal person for MSIG’s distributors and chemical sellers including:
    • Promote and sell MSIG products to Chemical sellers across Ghana by attending their district meetings. Lay out the appropriate plans and coordinate the meetings with the chemical sellers across all regions of Ghana.
    • Work to manage the relationship with MSIG’s Distributors & wholesalers by working with them to drive sales from their outlets, facilitate orders requisition and supplies to them and collection of their debts.
    • Help support distributor salespersons with product training.
    • Compile reports on distributor monthly sales including outlets that our products have been sold to by our various distributors and submit same to SM Lead.
    • Work with distributor contact persons to fashion out promotional activities in their areas of coverage that will push sales of MSG’s products from distributor outlets and facilitate the activation of any such activities.
  • Troubleshoot issues with distributors as and when they arise; respond promptly to questions and keep distributors updated on progress.

Ensure smooth functioning of SM Procurement and Sales

  • Ensure that monthly sales/distribution reports from distributors/are submitted to HSM on time.
  • Update SM’s provider and sales outlets list with new retailers supplied to by distributors and submit the updated list to SM Manager.
  • Compile a consolidated quarterly forecast of the product needs of distributors and share it with HSM.

Support the expansion of MSIG’s social marketing function

  • Working with the Head of Social Marketing to facilitate market surveys among wholesalers/distributors to gather information in order to help in building up business cases for proposed new products.
  • Search for potential distributors using developed criteria, make initial contact with them to generate interest in MSG products and refer acceptable potential distributors to the Head of Social Marketing for negotiation and sign.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Communication, Public Health, & Marketing.
  • A postgraduate degree in Business Management will be a plus.

Skills and Experience

  • At least 3 years of directly relevant post-graduation work experience in sales & distribution post.
  • Experience and knowledge of the private pharmaceutical market and working with regulated pharmaceutical products.
  • Strong coordination skills.
