A reputable research and manufacturing company, invites interested persons to apply for the position of a Production Manager. The production manager will be responsible for the technical management, supervision and control of the institution’s production processes.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Estimating negotiating and greeting budgets and mess with clients and managers
- Re-negotiation timescales or schedules as necessary
- Selecting ordering and purchasing materials
- Liaising with buyers and marketing and sales staff
- Supervising and managing the work of junior staffs
- Organising relevant training session
- Overseeing manufacturing and production processes
- Creating and evening daily, weekly, monthly and annual production schedules
- Procuring factory production equipment and taking responsibility for its maintenance
- Striving to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines
- Maintaining hygienic conditions for both employees and the factory self
- Implementing at the company’s procedures and policies
- Communicating any problems or obstacles to senior management
- Monitoring productivity rates, standards and quality control
- Training and coaching factory operators and sorters
- Implementing safety, health, environment and quality requirements

Qualifications & Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in production, manufacturing, materials science and engineering or a related held is essential for this role.
- A Master’s Degree from an accredited tertiary institution.
- At least five (5) years of experience in a related field.
- Basic understanding of patterns and grading
- Knowledge of retail maths and the ability to calculate wholesale costs, resource requirements planning (RRP) and margins
- Excellent understanding of lean manufacturing
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel to support work-in-progress and production schedules
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) systems
- Ability to operate all manufacturing or production line equipment.
