Mine Manager

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Mine in both development and production to maximize safety, operational efficiencies and profitability
• Set performance targets and measures, monitors and manages overall performance of employees and /or contract workers at the Mine.
• Advise and cooperate with all other departments affected by changes in mine operations and assists in overall mine management through interaction with other departments.
• Responsible for the Forecasting/Strategic Business Planning/Budgeting and formulate training strategies for all staff

Qualifications

• Must have BSc Mining, Engineering or equivalent
• Must have 10 – 15 years’ experience in a similar role within a mining environment
• Gold Mining experience a distinct advantage
• Proven track record of business optimization and development
• Mine manager’s certificate of competency issued by Minerals Commission is required.
