Responsibilities
- Support accounting and finance operations in accordance with internal accounting policies.
- Coordinate periodic internal staff training to keep abreast with best accounting practices.
- Support the timely preparation of annual and quarterly accounts with input from Management Team, including all financial reports, as well as registrar and regulator statement submissions.
- Prepare annual and quarterly budgets and reconciliation/variances in a timely manner.
- Prepare all vouchers, invoices and cheques according to best practices and procurement policy
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, bank accounts, petty cash fund, statement of deposits, withdrawals, and service charges, on a periodic best practice basis.
- Process all receipts and disbursements, approved inter-fund transfers; Prepare and review all reimbursements; Reviews expenses / approvals to be in alignment with procurement policy
- Prepare and process staff payroll summary for the correct payee, hours worked and check amounts.
- Support the management of the financial as well as fixed assets of the organisation:
- Collaborate and support Administrative and Procurement staff, particularly with statutory, internal, and procurement duties in alignment with policy.
- Oversight for all physical and digital filing and record-keeping functions of an accountant
- Support Executive Director to manage relationships with financial / the organisation; sponsoring partners; and
- Report to the Executive Director and works closely with Impact and Programmes Directors.
Qualification
- Three years’ experience with one year in a similar role.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Finance, with pursuit of/interest in professional certification(s).
- Ability to work with modern accounting, data analyses, presentation, and virtual work software.
- Exemplary integrity as well as strong communication and organizational skills
